The Budweiser BBQ Series is a culmination of 6 BBQ Competitions in the St. Louis Area!

Starting the series this year, we will be taking our grills out to the Roadhouse 61 in Webster Groves for the Annual Freeze-Que where competitors will be competing for $3500. This year will be historic for the event as it will be the first overnight event in January! The next event is the Belly BBQ Blowout at the Chesterfield Amphitheater in Chesterfield, MO. While the competitors will be turning in the main 4 categories for the Grand Champion, Friday night will offer a new take to competitions with an “Anything Pork” category, but will include on-site judging. Next is the Get Your Licks on Route 66 BBQ Competition in Eureka in early August. Following that we move into our third event, the 2nd Annual Rock Road BBQ Battle in early September. In late September the series will roll into it's final event, one that needs no introduction, The 11th Annual Wildwood BBQ Bash. “The Bash” is a gauntlet of categories which includes the Main four, but adds Chili, Pork Steaks, Chef’s Choice, and Dessert. While the event is pushes competitors to bring the best the entire weekend, there is no other event like it! The Veterans Honor-Que is a 4-category competition and will be the final event of the year for points. The Champion will be crowned at the SLBS Gala in November in Fenton, MO. Will a team be able to dethrone Heavy Smoke as the Budweiser BBQ Series champs?

Although each event will have its own purse, the teams will be competing for the Budweiser Series Championship and an additional $10,000 in prize money to be distributed over the top teams!

All contests in the Budweiser BBQ Series will be qualifiers for the American Royal Invitational, a Draw in the Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational and will count towards the St. Louis BBQ Society Team of the Year Points.

See how it works

The Budweiser BBQ Series is a group of events that will be sure to bring competition BBQ to the next level!  These events will consist of the “Big 4” categories (Chicken, Ribs, Pork, and Brisket) which will be counted towards the Overall Grand Champion of each event.  At the end of the year, the best three of four scores for each category and for overall points will be combined to calculate the placement of End of the Year Budweiser BBQ Series Points.

Scoring Example

scoring-exampleThe highlighted scores indicate the lowest of the six scores that will be dropped.  If a team only competes in 4 events, only those 4 scores will be counted.

Budweiser BBQ Series End of the Year Payout: $10,000

The Budweiser BBQ Series has an additional $10,000 Payout at the end of the season! The top 5 teams in each category and overall will receive a payout as follows. $10,000 is our guaranteed Payout for End of the Year Budweiser BBQ Series Prize Money, and we are working to increase that payout as well!
